June 22, 2019 church life presents wedding tea

and seattle children's hospital guild wedding dresses through the decades show

The Church Life Ministry Team was happy to sponsor a second Tea and Fashion Show to our congregation and the Enumclaw community a little over a year and a half since the last one.  Over 80 women and men attended the event. The theme was "Love" with red and pink table decor. A couple bridal shower games were played, refreshments enjoyed, the vintage wedding dresses presented, and the party finished with cake and a sparkling cider toast!  Much fun was had by all!

Special Thanks to Barb S.,Martha B., and Eva D. for sharing their photos.

september 10, 2017 homecoming celebration

A spirit-filled worship service, including communion was held. Beautiful music by our Chancel Choir, led by Lindsay Delmarter. Cherie Murchie read a lovely history of Calvary's lineage of pastors, and she also provided a Powerpoint show prior to the service with historical photos of how the campus structure has changed over the years. Two former pastor's wives attended - Mrs. Morgan West, and Mrs. Robert Sargent. Then following worship, Coffee Fellowship was held in the Narthex as folks conversed and looked at displays for the upcoming Veteran's Memorial book, Lenten devotional, pictorial directory, cookbook, and many purchased the commemorative 125th Anniversary Ornament with logo designed by Eva Dietz. At 11:30 a.m. the church bell rang signalling folks to head downstairs for the "Merchant's Lunch" that had been traditionally served over the years. A delicious chicken and rice casserole, jello salad, pickled beet garnish, and roll. Following the main course, you could choose your slice of pie from a delicious selection. Everyone agreed, it was a lovely day.  A feeling of history living and a Christ-filled family of believers abounded.

Church Life Victorian Tea & Fashion Show

October 28, 2017

The Church Life Ministry Team sponsored an event for women of the church and community. About 80 women attended this event. Women from Calvary shared their bone china tea cups to help set the scene. The Seattle Children's Hospital Guild was invited to present their vintage clothing in a "Fashions Through the Decades" Show (1860-1960).  A collection of poems were read by Martha Blodgett. Refreshments included a delicious citrus/pineapple punch, a selection of finger sandwiches, a variety of sweets - cookies, scones, cream puffs, belgian pastries, chocolates, and of course, TEA!

This event was educational, fulfilling, and all around fabulous!
