Care Partner Support Group
Join us at the Calvary Community Center for a monthly support group for those caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
When: Second Tuesday of each month, 10:00–11:30 AM
Note: The group meets during a Rainier Respite session, so your loved one can attend respite while you participate.
Caring for someone with memory loss brings many changes. This group offers a safe, supportive space to share experiences, connect with others, and learn about helpful resources. The group is led by a licensed clinical social worker and is open to anyone providing care or helping coordinate care—whether or not your loved one lives with you. To get started, please contact office@calvarypreschurch.org
Care Partner Support Group
At our November Forum we introduced the idea of becoming a Dementia Friendly Community and explored what this looks like. There were many questions around how to understand dementia, how to interact with someone with cognitive change, and how to get started in accessing appropriate care. We will be hosting a follow up conversatoin on April 25th from 10am until 12pm at Calvary Presbyterian Church on these topics.
Keynote:
What is Dementia?Ann Dingwall, Care Navigator & Patient Navigator,
How do I be with someone living with Dementia? Kadee White, Heritage House
Plus short talks on access to support with medical, legal, care partner and long-term care matters; Q&A; and resources from NOLIA, Heritage House, Alzheimers Association, and Rainier Respite.
